A typical possession in basketball lasts about 20 seconds, give or take. In those 20 seconds, 5 players act in unison, attempting to run a play that has been practiced so much it is ingrained in their bones. You push, you shove, you cut hard. You spin, you shout, you observe. You deceptively dribble and pass. And after those 20 seconds of hard work, there is nothing better than being rewarded with a basket.
That is what I like - the swish of the net.
the beach; the ocean. the sand; the waves.
There is nothing like the first feeling of the sand between your toes, or the first dive underneath a wave to wet your head for the first time. It’s refreshing, renewing. There is something about those first feelings that draws you in, like the undertow of the ocean. It is when you get the clearest sense of yourself.
That is what I like - the feeling of being surrounded by something as vast and mysterious as the ocean, yet being comfortable in your own skin.
